What is the torque spec for rear axle nuts on Peterbilt 379?

    Just to clarify, I mean the large inner/outer nuts that hold the hub onto the differential. Does anyone know the torque specs on these?

    It depends. Does it have a spacer/sleeve between the bearings? I assume not if it has two nuts

    It's best for someone that hasn't done it before to follow manufacturer specs. Stemco and Webb have some guidelines out there.

    Nope, no spacer between the bearing. I'll look into Stemco, thanks!n

    Tight as you can get it with a pipe on your 3/4 drive rachet?

    Edit: just noticed it's an old post. Still, If no spacer, .001-.005 end play. Search RP 618A

    I must have read his post too quickly. I thought he was talking about bolting the big 2-1/2 inch nut and yoke back on after changing the mid shaft bearing.
    That might be quite a bit too much torque on that nose cone front differential cover bolts.
    It is an older thread also which I didn't realize.
