Flatbedded all my life but sold my bigrig end of 2022. Now considering hotshot. Is there any real advantage to a dually that would make it better than a srw 1 ton? If I can make the same money i prefer a single rear wheel .

Depends on the how truck is spec’d.
Generally speaking DRW will offer more stability.
State Patrol/DOT maybe more likely to raise an eyebrow running SRW.

Get a flat rear tire and you can still make it down the road to a safe spot.

Screenshot_20220316-073843_Chrome.jpg To me toter trucks are far better than A dually for a number of reasons. But my preference doesn't sit with everyone. So if you could find on cool. If not ram 5500.

This truck is just for personal use but I prefer it in most cases over our 2015 Ram dually....

Tires last much longer, proper jakes, mostly off the shelf parts etc... with a C12 and 13 speed it gets really good fuel economy. We only pull light loads (Skid steers, 5 ton mini-excavators etc)

I fabricated a 1" thick bumper pull hitch plate, 1999 factory single axle, diff lock, 4.30 ratio (a lot of steep mountain passes here)

If staying with a pickup style truck I would far prefer the dual rear wheel version... tempImagetKShpl.png
