A truck driver from Somalia exited the 405 at Arrival Terminal, and crashed into the guardrail. Amazon got what they deserve.

He said his GPS directed him to take that route.
hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
But it also seemed like it was the address Amazon provided, when the actual location was about a mile away.
The language barrier aside, it looks like Amazon was more at fault than the driver or his company or the GPS for the faulty directions.
Or, the driver didn't do the research into the actual directions provided by Amazon for this delivery.
Sometimes it is in the notes at the bottom, or in the prepared directions provided by the macro.
An unfortunate circumstance caused by a lack of proper communication and/or understanding?hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
That video got posted on another thread last week. Made me chuckle. The lesson here is, being over reliant on a GPS can result in thousand of dollars in damage. I wish the guy from the Allstate commercial with the bandage on his face could do a commercial about GPS failures.

But it wasn't a GPS failure, it was the address provided.
The address led to the actual terminal, not the delivery location.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
The point I was making, and should have made more clear, was that it is important for drivers to call and ask if possible, or use satellite mode if provided. If it were me, I would have tried to call the receiver and get exact directions. That's a great method if you gotta deliver in NYC too.D.Tibbitt, tscottme, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.

This is where the language and IQ barrier becomes a problem with these foreign jobs. Turns out it actually does take a minimum level of intelligence and common sense to stay out of trouble in a large combination vehicle. And a little skill too if you get into a jam. But preferably use the common sense to avoid the jam in the first place. Unbelievable how they let all these guys come flooding into a safety sensitive occupation like this who clearly aren’t qualified.86scotty, rollin coal, tscottme and 5 others Thank this.

So that’s bad trip planning. The driver should have reconized that and called dispatch to get a proper delivery address. Stop making excuses for this trash. This is 100% on the driver!BoostedTeg, rollin coal, DannyB and 5 others Thank this.

I’ve picked up and delivered at airports. I always double check the address and look at Google maps to make sure I’m going to the right place. I haven’t ended up in the arrival/departure area yet.
