Iowa 80 Truck Stop

So, this is just about the food? FWIW, I think most drivers would confirm that the food there ain't THAT big of a deal, and certainly was never the main draw. Especially if you end up parking in "the back 40" and have to hike 1/2 mile to get to the restaurant.

 

30 years ago Iowa 80 was state of the art and had lots to offer. Food was excellent, a pub across the road. I was there occasionally as Iowa was on my weekly route
I generally fuelled and ate at the mom & pop establishments as food was cheaper

 

Whike I do enjoy the diner at Iowa 80 (open 24/7) that mom and pop across the street has excellent food.

 

Never stopped there when I was driving. It’s not too far , was thinking about paying a visit.

 

Always kind of a neat place to stop at, but the one time I ate in the restaurant I came away far less than whelmed, let alone overwhelmed.

 

Last time I stopped in there was 2017. Food was ok, nothing to brag about. Other than parking, the place is no big deal. It has gone downhill since the late 90's

 

Iowa 80 is replacing Einstein bagels with Starbucks…. They used to have the best pulled pork on jalapeño bagel with egg and some decent frozen coffees…. Starbucks is a major disappointment in that place…

 

Iowa 80 needs to bring in Panda Express. That would be awesome
