18 weeks for training in the books. Not the time I wanted. As I told my brother, I’m glad I had the courage to toe the line, but the competitive side of me is extremely pissed. I did well until mile ten, then my body started to fight me. I was solid in my cardio, which makes me even more pissed. I learned that I need to hydrate more leading up to the race and stay hydrated during the race. That was my downfall.

Nice work! What's scheduled for next?

I can't lie. Todays been 2 weeks for me. My brother and I put in 10 miles that Sunday morning, and I did something to aggravate my right knee.

Then doing some deadlifts the next day and tweaked my back somehow. Went to Wichita and back, then had lots more work to do on the truck

Workin on the truck and about slipped while working on the engine, and my left knee ran into the PS reservoir. It's been tweaked since.

Got back to work yesterday, and rolled over Lizard Head Pass this mornin. Weather is awesome, so I decided to get a little hike in.

Snow was deep, lots of postholing, but the knees feel good. Did get some weird looks from the skiers. They probably think I was unprepared.

Brother and I will knock out some miles Christmas morning.

I scheduled a half marathon in March in Florida, then I got a half marathon in Ohio in April, then I’m either going to do the Detroit International full marathon, or the Nationwide Children’s full marathon in the fall. I haven’t decided. And I signed up for the full marathon back down in South Carolina next year.

How’s the legs and body feeling? That looks like you had a beautiful hike! What do you have scheduled for this coming year?

I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes, nice hike with lots of elevation. Started at 10.2k' and got close to 11k'. Snow got crotch deep so I turned back.

Sounds llike you'll be constantly training too.

I signed up for a marathon here close to home at the end of March. I noticed yesterday that registration for next years ultra opened early, so I signed up for the 100.

Not sure how I'm gonna make the time to train, eat, and sleep enough with my crazy work schedule. May have to make some changes somewhere. I'm supposed to have 30 loads already scheduled for next year. Over 1600 miles one way and they won't start turning till March or April depending on the weather.

Short run this morning. Knee started buggin me at 35ish minutes. I added in some calf raises to maybe help that.
