Been doing some research and made a post on here few months back. I have to replace my axles on my old Fruehauf end dump trailer. Finally found some old propar axles to replace the ones I have on there now. Was curious what else if anything you would also change while the axles are already off.

Reason for replacing axles is I want to upgrade the old hub assembly. Right now they’re budd/studd wheels, want to upgrade to hub piloted wheels. The axles I have on their now are tapered and have absolutely no way of upgrading them.

While the axles are out, you have opened up the area for full access. You could basically rebuild the back end of the trailer if you wanted. It depends on how far you wanted to go. I would start with easy things like brake relay valves, brake hoses, brake chambers and go from there. You could do new bushings or leafs/air bags if they are considerably worn or aged.
