Dynaflex came on the truck I'm driving, 946,000 miles and they still clean up looking good. I don't have any experience with other brands. Screenshot_20260103-045423.png

Nice rig! Also 950k miles on the pipes is insane! I have heard dynaflex is good. But dang 950k is incredible. I actually found a way to build my own 5" straight stacks out of t406 stainless. I might polish them when they arrive not sure. I just want them to last as long as possible. Not super worried about looks. My truck is typically dirty from off-road and farm deliveries anyways. Just tired of my rusted worn out exhaust. I assembled all the pieces I need for 5" from the turbo to the top of the stacks. 111" total height from the elbow. Full stainless, t pipe, hangers etc for around $700 bucks delivered. We will see how it goes. I will update when I get it built. I pieced it together from multiple places.

I have dynaflex. About four years and the little rock dings start to rust, but they use so much deicer anymore here it's hard to keep things nice I think I just need to figure on changing them sooner.

Yeah that is why I specifically wanted some stainless. I hate rust so much. I am alright if they blue or color change a bit from heat. I just don't want them rusting out. I don't keep my truck polished up anyways.

Hey fellas lots of people probably know this but I was doing some reading. 409 isn't good for anything visible it will get a layer of rust on it after awhile. So I changed my order. Everything under the truck is 409 chrome plated. Stacks are 304 stainless. I haven't messed with stainless much so didn't realize there was such a huge difference in corrosion protection. Hope that helps someone in the future if they read this.

Hey guys. I got everything installed. I believe I am around $600-650. 95% is new even under the truck. I did reuse a few pieces of my old exhaust under the truck here and there. I wish my stacks were a touch longer but honestly looks decent considering how cheap it all was. I could always add another piece to the top. I might need to adjust them a bit more. I was dumb enough to start the project at 11pm on a Monday lol. I finished around 4am. Definitely took longer than I was hoping. I will upload a photo here in a bit. Oh also they sound incredible! Never have had straight pipes and stacks, all 5" from turbo to stack.

Not the nicest thing ever but I am pretty happy! I could buy about 5 of these before it would equal a Lincoln or something similar on the lower end. We will see how it holds up! All the stainless looks decent enough to me. Old exhaust was just the stock freightliner mufflers. They were rusted and falling apart. Also yes my truck is insanely dirty right now snow will do that. Thanks everyone for input and following along. Have a good one.

IMG_6366.png You did good. Same Truck I have. I’ve been able to piece together things a bit over the years. 6” straight coupler at end of Y pipe, Add a cheap type flat clamp over a hole. Cur the rusty end off of base of the stacks. The Y pipes rust at the Y weld. I thought about re enforcing a new one before installing it. Never did. Considered singling the drivers out as a dummy pipe. Best upgrade was the S pipe at turbo. 2002 and newer uses a longer pipe. Flex lines up better, lasts much longer. In case you have the old style. Have you thought about wrapping the pipe and a turbo blanket? When my rig was new I noticed my wire loom was prematurely aging due to heat under the hood. I was surprised how much heat was kept out of the engine compartment and away from my wiring after I did both. IMG_5632.jpeg
