Yes I'm overweight I lost 140lbs already have about 60 to go and I'll be considered normal weight. My blood pressure is slightly high but not as much as when I was heavier so expect it to go down even more. Don't believe I have sleep apnea. Yes stopped drinking and smoking a few years ago don't do anything anymore so I can pass no problem.Chinatown Thanks this.

So I guess no OTR jobs unless I move or can get an address from someone huh?
-
Yes, need the address on your CDL.
Maybe won't have to do that if we find some company hiring Miami drivers.
Prime Inc. has a floral division out of Miami. Prime pays well also. Be sure to specify you want the Floral Division though. Probably won't be hired unless you specify Floral Division.

Just have to keep trying for OTR out of Miami.
Even local will pay more than you're making right now. Get some experience local then when something else is available apply for that. Some local jobs are Class-B, but still hire Class-A drivers.Blinkers22 Thanks this. -
Thanks, Is there any location that has more jobs than any other or it's just around the Miami area that's dead? I mean if it really comes down to it I may be able to sell my place although I would get scraps then be scraping by so it wouldn't really be worth it. Is there any reason why it's like this? I would think if someone is willing to travel it wouldn't be a problem but what do I know lol.Last edited: Jan 4, 2026

Any website that's good for this? Been searching indeed and one other I can't currently remember. I don't mind class b but my main goal is class A and I'm worried if I get my class a then get a class b job I won't be the best class a driver because I'll have no experience.

I make $1800 a week for 7 days on a 1099 and if I work a total of 93 hours in those 7 days it comes out to exactly Illinois minimum wage if you account for time and a half over 40 hours.
I averaged something like $925 a week after taxes for my first year driving OTR for a mega carrier in 2018Concorde Thanks this.
