    Howdy fellas,

I have seen this posted before but my engine breather tube on my N14 drips some oil residue and kind of makes a mess after awhile. I ran it down close to the ground but I'm still not happy with it. I have seen the Pittsburgh power catch can mentioned all over this site. But it is almost 500 dollars and doesn't look like anything special to me. I assume I can just buy any old catch can system and just vent it back to atmosphere? I would get an extremely low restriction one. I have seen multiple with large intakes and exhausts on them with basically no restrictions and even two vent filters on top of it as well. Exhaust line would be ran down toward the road same as previously. Any reason why this wouldn't work? Also Pittsburgh power is $500 and the one I am looking at for example is $50. I have also seen people stuff steel wool or copper wool under the baffle in the valve cover to help collect some of the oil. I would prefer to spend $50 bucks not to have thin strands of metal under my valve cover lol. Thanks!

My series 60 was terrible about blowing oil on the front side of my passenger fuel tank. I bought the Pittsburgh Power can and it has worked well. I bought mine 7 or 8 years ago and I don’t recall the price but it’s been worth what ever I paid to me. Not constantly having oil on my polished fuel tank would still be worth $500 to me, maybe not to anyone else.
Google search shows $350 and someone with the time and skills could probably build one cheaper, I couldn’t. IMG_1390.png

It just vents back to atmosphere correct? I just don't think there is anything specific or special about it that I can tell. Appreciate your reply.

The can traps the majority of the oil and every time I change my oil I will empty the can using the valve installed on it. Then it vents to the normal blow by tube that blows significantly less oil in my case. Works as it was advertised to work. I spent a lot of wasted time trying to reposition and lengthen my blow by tube with no success because the oil comes out on something else. If I would have just bought this to start with I would have wasted less time coming up with the same final solution.

Sounds good I am just going to try the cheaper version. Seems like it shouldn't be any different at all. I just don't see anything game changing about their design that is worth 350 bucks. I appreciate your feedback and maybe I will be wrong! We will have to see.

Definitely nothing special about it. If you like fabricating stuff it should be an easy job. At this point in my life I pay for convenience.

Ha! I hear ya man. I am on a bit of a money saving kick lately. Making my own exhaust as well. I just don't like the prices these days. Everything seems about double what it is really worth.

I totally understand you and if I had the fabricating tools and indoor shop I would do alot more stuff myself. There is a lot of stuff I did for years I don’t do now just because.
