hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had some serious advice for me ... I drove trucks for 3 years. I have been off the road for about 1.5 years. I have a clean dac report. No tickets , No accidents , or preventibles. I feel like trucking companies are treating me like a criminal because of it . I just Moved out to los angeles about 7 months ago and It's been hell trying to get a trucking job out here. I transfered my license to California and I have all the endorsements.. Also I didn't work for a while when I got layed off . I know the DOT laws are giving them a hard time but there must be something someone can do...I don't get it !!...It's hard for me to understand what taking some time off has to do with you being able to drive a truck....I have a perfect background with no criminal history..I guess they think when I wasn't working that I went to learn how to be a terrorist in another country....We have to do something about these DOT laws because they are preventing Honest people from getting Jobs...
I really need some sound advice

Keep trying! Most companies look at your experience in the last 3 years. There are companies that offer refresher training too.

Good Luck!rookietrucker Thanks this. -
It's crazy, companies think you forget how to drive if you don't drive for a period of time. And if you take time off, that means you robbed a bank and got caught and did jail time.
