Good companies to lease onto?

Hi Guys, I was an owner op some years ago and had leased onto a company but that company has now gone under. Nonetheless I’m purchasing a used truck again and looking for any advice on good companies from your own personal experiences.
I live in Southern California but open to running otr or regional. 12 yrs exp clean record.

I have a couple companies I was recommended by an old friend but those are smaller and I honestly feel 12% to just let me use your dot and to do my fits and dispatch is not exactly cheap. 10% is maximum I could do before I simply say f it and get my own authority and deal with whatever comes ahead.
I don’t mind paying more percentage of course if I’d be using the company trailers and they covered it and it’s insurance etc.

####, you’re right brother I thought the AB5 was specifically for rideshare drivers and apparently it was but now I see it pushed truckers into this fray too. It makes sense that they would force truckers to get their own authority or become employees as getting their own authority means own high cost insurance which benefits corrupt politicians on the insurance payrolls as they have been especially Republican Darrel Issa… and becoming employees benefits the big corporations that otherwise couldn’t find any #### employees at their peanut wages.

Thanks for bringing that up to me I hadn’t even looked into it as I was an owner op in 2013-2016 last and had none of these issues. But wow… looks like I’m pretty screwed unless I move.

 

Issa is a RINO. Democrat thru and thru but rides around in red trust me everything he has done has been to benefit himself and his businesses. He’s a Christian Arab that tries to play both sides.
