Melton operates in all 48… I’ve seen melton trucks up in the Pacific Northwest and I’ve seen them down in California in Arizona all the way to Florida

Can go far being 3 weeks out.

So Melton called me today to ask something about a company I did a day of orientation at.
So a couple months ago or so. I went to orientation for a company called Genox for some dedicated LNG hauling job. After one day they called me in the evening saying won't continue. Reason was because of being worried about me driving in snow.
Possibly the stupidest reason to not hire me. Especially with the location I live in.
So I really hope that doesn't prevent me from getting approved. -
So I'm approved for Melton. Can either do orientation on the 19th or the 26th.
Though it I choose 19th. Barr-Nunn won't get a full 2 weeks notice.
I was also contacted by Quality Carriers to maybe do tanker out of their Chicopee Massachusetts terminal. But with that unsure about parking the truck. Because they sort of like having the trucks parked at the terminal. But that location is about 4 and a half hours away. -
whats keeping you in maine/Speedy356 and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Honestly money

The company I work for has a terminal in Gray Maine. Idk if you want to do local flatbed work and idk if they need drivers there. I know they’d like a driver in Fairlee Vermont but that’s too far to drive every day.
-
If you want another option to check out, you could check TMC. They have a lot of flatbeds in this area. Really nice equipment too.
-
My advice? That's great news. Now, stop overthinking everything and stay at least one year at Melton before weighing other options. One doesn't want to get the rep of a "job-hopper" in this industry and IMO Melton is a good place to see if you fit into the flatbed world of trucking.
One thing about this forum is you'll always get advice and opinions on things, but at the end of the day as in life, the decision is yours to make and rightfully so, you're the one who has to live with it. Research, investigate, and research some more, but when you make a decision, stick with it...
This is my last post on your thread, but I do hope things work out for you - don't ever give up and don't stop trying to improve - and you'll be OK.~ -
I'm at TMC orientation and I'm happy with my decision. The hoodlums fell out quick though, you have to sip the black n chrome.
