I would recommend trying to get into the service before going to drive trucks.
Numb Thanks this. -
I’m not gonna get into politics but the way things are going not gonna join the military. Plus I’m 30 maybe if I was 18 sure. I know some branches have cut off limits.
-
Yeah everyone knows politics is fake and gay, I'm not talking about politics. I'm talking about the military, use it as a tool and a resource. It's perfect for people who lack direction. I was 27 when I joined.

There's no way you're going to be taking a shower every day. Seriously. But you will never have to pay for those you do take if you buy fuel. I've never paid for parking either. On the few occasions when paid parking is necessary, if the company doesn't want to pay, you will have already had bigger problems than that because that would be an absolute bottom of the barrel outfit.
Tools...I ride with a hammer and duct tape and an adjustable wrench. And I bill my employer for the duct tape.
No expenses of the sort you mentioned.
And if you live in the truck you can quit paying rent etc. as well.
Hazmat...I would say don't even get Hazmat certification. Because then they give you hazmat. And you get 10x the scrutiny, exposure to law enforcement, other hassles for 2 extra cents a mile (might be 3 cents extra or more now LOL but I wouldn't do it for 2o cents extra).
Your pay estimate for trucking is well too low even for a rookie but I'm sure that's been covered.
I wouldn't want my 30 year old kid in this sh8++y corrupt racket but for some it's the best or at least most easily available way out of something worse and that might be the case for you.
....Ddh77777 Thanks this. -
The point of getting hazmat isn’t to use it once in a while dragging a box down the road, you get it in order to get a job where you use it daily.
LoneRanger, Gearjammin' Penguin and lual Thank this. -
