They dont really tell you anything unless you reach like 70mph but your Samsara score drops if you're speeding too much and it will affect your quarterly bonus. So just dont do it.

 

So then, it's best to set cruise at 62mph so truck ECU holds truck at 65mph on downhills?

 

Yup or maybe set it at 65 and just activate engine brake when you're going downhill.

Some of the freightliners have the setting were they can hold you at 65 and some 3 mph above set cruise.

What about those drivers/trucks/cryo companies with speed limit reading dash cameras...do you get dinged for going 32mph in a 30mph zone or dinged for going over in a reduced speed construction zone when no construction is present? I'm just curious.

 

If you get dinged for a non existent construction zone were they left the speed signs behind, you just talk to your supervisor and they'll get your samsara score corrected. Sometimes Samsara will ding you for it and sometimes it wont. Not sure how exactly that system works.

We were told that it works through a combination of the camera reading the sign and comparing it to Google maps.
