Additional Insurance Cost - Rider Policy

I went to go pick up the load. Another truck was there. The broker had canceled us and used his own company to pick up the dozer. The company was Set Equipment out of Wyoming. He would only pay us $250 Tonu and nothing else.
Not just foreign companies are bad. Our good ole Wyoming brokers are bad as well.
Couldn’t get a reload yesterday because of Fed Holiday. Will not get a reload today. Trying to get something setup for tomorrow and so far nothing. Horrible week. Tomorrow will be 40 days without a load. Seems like the dark night of this truckers soul.

 

I see a load that’s 16.5 wide out of Kansas to North Dakota. Do you need police escorts in any of the states? Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota?

 

Man I wish. I would’ve been gone long ago. This company is beyond fair. Give you example of my load to Denver that gave TNU of $250. Our permit dept closes at 3:30pm so all permits for that day or the next day have to be made by that time. I wasn’t going to be loaded until like 4pm. So permits were made for Texas and Colorado and we were waiting on Oklahoma. The load was going to be layover. Went back on Monday but broker wanted to use his truck. He gave us $250 and nothing else. I will get the $250 but the company will not charge me for any permits where the load gets canceled or I can’t make the pick up. This has happened 3 times so far. I’m sure the company has taken about $2k worth of permit hits so far. They try to be fair and try to make things run smoothly and not nickle and dime their drivers or owner ops. Yes the Heavy Haul Division does look like it’s not going to work here. I’m now here for the ride.

 

And I am grateful for you. Or else we would’ve still been believing Covid actually was killing millions and we couldn’t control the border, our tax dollars were not being given to fake daycare. FYI I’m not white and was offended when AP would capitalize Black but would not Capitalize white.

The rates can be phenomenal just ask @ElmerFudpucker . I don’t have Stockholm syndrome and yes plenty of companies that are the way you describe them to be. If I can’t make it here, will probably not make it anywhere. Solid company. Will be 5 years here in March. All down payments of $70k was earned while at this company all debt paid off has been at this company. Only thing I care about at this company is that I can make money and that I am talked to with professionalism.

 

Thank you. #2 was primary reason to be here. We had military freight before but now some brokers are controlling that and their rate are bad.
I have to hope that hard work and a little luck will get me through 2.5 years. That’s when the trailer payments fall off and will give me breathing room. Then 1 year after that truck will be paid off. Just need some momentum.
