Getting long hauls makes OTR trucking so much better and with Holland if the past threads are correct than long hauls will be all that you're doing. Especially since they go out west all the time. I would take less money to get long coast to coast runs over short runs in the congested areas of the country any day of the week. I remember in your previous thread you were having to beg to go out west, now you'll probably be going out west constantly. I think this will be much better for your mental health where you're not having to beg to be sent to the parts of the country you want to run.

How long do you plan on staying out for each time?

Are you worried about eventual burnout from only having 1 day off per 7 days worked, year after year after year of that?

And based on your response to me I guess the truck starting and stopping a couple times a night due to the EPU isn't waking you up?

4-5 weeks unless I have something going on and need to use the 3 week minimum occasionally. I'm not too worried about burnout, I think that's mainly a problem with the guys that like to have a 34 every week and don't want to run continuously on recaps, since Holland likes their drivers to run on recaps. I prefer running on recaps. If you pace yourself just right every day is a short day, especially when you get the really long hauls. I also asked about the home time and they said they can give you more time off sometimes as long as you're getting your miles in. I figured I'll see how they feel about me taking an extra day or two on holidays when the time comes and I'll make sure to report back here.

I wouldn't say that lol. I'm gonna have to get used to it. Despite what I said, it is a little different than an APU, I will admit. Even though it woke me up once last night, I still slept pretty good. Holland supplies the drivers with very nice thick mattresses and I'm loving it. Bunk heater was keeping me nice and warm too even though it got down to I think about 7° last night where I parked in Wisconsin.

Nope. It's completely your choice if you'd rather shut down.

By the way, my inverter did beep when the truck turned on this morning. I looked into this because I don't want it beeping when the truck turns on while I'm sleeping. This is how you disable the beep when the truck starts: on the inverter control panel press select until the screen shows "AL1". Then, hold the power button until the "AL1" starts flashing. Press select and it should change to AL0. Then, hold the select button for 5 seconds. That's it. Your audible low voltage alarm is now turned off.

P.S. if you don't have the inverter control panel in your sleeper it's on the inverter itself

Got empty in Wilkesboro this morning and deadheaded to Fayetteville for a 6pm appointment tomorrow. I figured it doesn't hurt to try and get loaded early so I did, but unfortunately they turned me away. The load is going to Denton, TX. 175 empty miles, 1206 loaded.

Wouldn’t really matter if you got loaded earlier or not, you wouldn’t make it very far going back towards Texas this weekend due to the winter storm… So this should actually work out in your favor you should avoid the brunt of it
