So I tried moving my fifth wheel the other day on my 03 Peterbilt 379 and noticed when I flip the switch to unlock it did nothing. I disconnected the line with the switch in the unlock position and theirs barely any air coming from the line. I wanted to check the solenoid to see if it’s working properly but have no clue where it would be located. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not to hijack your post, But...I don't even use mine anymore. Just seemed to take longer than just manually pulling it. It's not like I have to get out to do that one thing. I'm already there disconnecting lines and dropping the landing gear...:dontknow:

An 03 pete i don't think there is a solenoid. It's just the switch on the dash. Assume it's an air switch?

Yes it’s an air switch. I wasn’t sure if it had a solenoid. I believe I found the air line coming from switch going to a block on the floor underneath the steering column. It has what looks like corrosion starting on the fitting

Do you need to move it, or just want to? Is weight a concern? As nasty as that slider plate looks, it's all probably rusted together anyway.

I'd clean that off and spray some penetrating oil around the locking pins.

Then figure out your air issue.

I wanted to move it I figure where it was currently would put more weight on the steer axle

You can disconnect the air line by the cylinder and connect an air line there bypassing everything else. Your pins should retract then allowing you to manually put it where you want.
Once you disconnect the temporary air the pins will retract and you should be good to go.
That’s what I did when I couldn’t find the lack of air problem.

Ooops...I misread the topic. I thought you meant the air release for the jaws.
