I honestly don't know. I just woke up thinking it's probably not for me. Also worried that I can't lift the tarps. Unsure of a way to test if I can before I'm sent to Oklahoma or Nebraska

Ive had that feeling many times in life.. just gotta do whats best for u and trust in your instinct. At the end of the day its just another aspect of trucking, flatbedding isnt the end all be all. It has just as many problems and bs to put up with as any other sector

Probably best to trust your instinct. I don’t do flatbed because I enjoy it so much, I do it more for the fact I know the work is good for me. I want to at least stay in reasonably good shape. If I did what I wanted I’d get my hazmat and try to get the best paying gig I could find. I’m afraid I’d soon be obese though. Maybe when I get older idk.

As far putting your tattoo on the load shippers will use the forklift to put your tarps on top Top of the load.. if that’s your concern

I'm just going to go back to RF Chamberland in Maine. Less pay but it is a nice small company. Owner of the company with his family works in the office as dispatchers and etc.

I had a trainer who drove for Hunt for 7 years, said it was a pretty good experience. He said he would go back if he’d wanted OTR flatbed. He was there in 2013 or so, so who knows how they are now. They are pretty hard to find any recent info about. I’m pretty sure that division is super small compared to the rest of Crete/Shafer,

I was tempted signing on with Crete to go to Hunt instead, but chickened out of the flatbed challenge. Too out of shape. Crete didn’t work out, so I went into the next best thing, tankers. Maybe in a few years I’ll give flatbed an actual shot.

    Good luck!

So even though I chosen not to do flatbed. Mostly because of unsure if can lift the tarps. My brain went back to wanting to do it. Also Crete called me today about going back. I also see a weekly email from Melton. Which I see them often in Maine on i95
