Nope! Dispatch said the plant is still close today, and possibility reopen tomorrow after 11AM... I tried calling their Google number but it went into voicemail.

Please tell me you're joking... I have a pre-planned after this load, picking up in McAllen, TX tomorrow to New Castle, Delaware for Friday... But I don't know, this is craziest storm I've seen yet! All of that is ice, not snow! Multiple trucks got stuck here including me, I'm gonna need a tow truck to pull me out but that's a problem for tomorrow. Welp, I officially hate ice more than snow now...

This storm and next weekends storm may just be the catalyst we need for rates to pop.. There should be some good money to be made once all this clears out. I know all my stores shelves were empty. Texas did a lot better on treating the roads and we got lucky that this hit on the weekend, so not nearly as many accidents.. I think the 2021 storm here in DFW sent a message to all the idiots that want to drive in these conditions. I don't think DFW salted the roads in 2021, but they're salted now..

Tow trucks will be very busy, good business for them..

I hope there's no more storm... It's a clusterF*ck overhere LMFAO!! There's a long line of trucks to all the way to the road, I'm guessing they're trying to fuel but there's no fuel here, I saw a tow truck pull out like maybe 6 trucks at this Pilot alone, and I'm gonna need one tomorrow too, honestly, I think almost all the trucks that parked here before the storm is stuck, so they either gonna try to get out by themselves, call a tow truck or wait for the ice to melt. So yeah, they're making banks with this weather.

Yeah most likely those trucks failed to trip plan and just ran as long as they could.. You can search YouTube videos of f I-80 winter storms and that's what most drivers would do, packed in the truck stop like a can of sardines..everybody trying to use two ####ters.. If you know there's bad weather then plan for Your Comfort.

You're pickup is a good location. You can avoid most of the bad roads and come up near Houston on you're back haul to Delaware. Tow truck is not a bad choice if you're on mostly ice, but call like at 06/700 tomorrow as they will be busy.. best time to hit Sulphur Springs would be like 1300 or so but remember they have a backlog so the unload time may be extended, just make sure you shut down for the day before the roads refreeze.. and start you're day later so the roads are thawed..

Chain it up if you have chains, lock power divider, some kitty litter or sand might get you moving too.If they have any at the truck stop,a lot cheaper than a tow.

Make sure your trailer brakes are all released, not frozen.I sat out a storm at North Platte once,a least a dozen trucks pulled out of there that I saw, trailer tires not rolling. Some made it a mile or 2 down 80 and they were off on the shoulder with flat tires, skid marks all the way until they finally stopped. It was crazy.

Was like that yesterday morning on I-80 in Nebraska. Seen at least a dozen trucks on the shoulder with blown tires. Crete driver took first place with what looked like all 8 trailer tires blown, lol.

Just amazes me at how these drivers made it so far in life :)

Here’s the situation in South Dallas (red oak specifically). I’ve been here since Friday. Two of us Loaded 16’ wides for a Saturday morning departure. We tried to call it off with the customer but they insisted. So dropped the trailer in their bay and bobtailed to the shell dealer down the road.

we got about 2” of sleet here and it’s been a #### show ever since. Two trucks got winched out this morning from in front of me. At least two trucks slid backwards out of the entrance until they were blocking the frontage road. they are out of fuel.

Tonight as the sun went down it really went down hill. One “driver” slid down the hill and “sent it” right over the curb, through the landscaping, and down about a 3 food drop.

these three are all stuck, the first two are up against the curb at the bottom of the slight hill. The third truck is a real dip ####, he pulled right up behind the other two and got stuck instantly. He’s been gunning his tuck ever since. IMG_9112.jpeg

This is crazy... How's the road in Texas? I saw one of the drivers that came from there, we were inside ordering Subway, I told him I'm going to Sulphur Springs and he told me "Good Luck" LMFAO!!! So the snowplows haven't clean out the roads yet?

hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.
