The fuel bonus seem kind of backwards to me. Your bonus was reduced by idling less. I idled less by turning the engine off every chance I got to offset letting it idle when I wanted to run the AC during the day. They're saying how the auto stop is so bad on cars, I wonder what it does to diesels?

They were a great company to get into the industry and learn about it, got all conditions of driving with them. I would have stayed past my initial two years had I not been volun-told a camera was going in my truck when they first rolled out.

I saw a couple of Millis trucks the other day including one pulling a 19xxx trailer with trailer tails. The tractor was a T680 painted a different shade of maroon too, it looked pretty weird.

There was something on the FB page about them getting rid of a lot of or maybe even all of the Wabash trailers they bought. I think the 21xxx and 22xxx trailers. Something about a lawsuit. I know I didn't like those trailers as much as the Great Danes.

And fortunately I was able to go back to work at my non-Heartland owned company before my FMLA ran out so I don't have to go looking for another job. Looks like the job market out there right now is grim.

Howdy everyone. Something urged me to check in on this old thread after passing a couple Millis trucks today, and it's so funny you mentioned it because they were pulling the 19 vintage with the tails. Made me think to myself that I might have been hooked to them at some point back in the day. Man - the thread seems pretty grim! Are there any current posters here that actually still run for them? I've had a local gig for the past 4 plus years and we used to get a Millis truck in there pretty frequently. The driver I talked to once said it was a dedicated run, but I haven't seen them in quite a while. We also do deliveries to that Nestlé Purina across from the Eden terminal (old brewery). What's up with all these other trucks parked there? Heartland I know but there's others now and I don't remember the name(s).

And yes Gremlin the job market is definitely grim. Pay - at least here - has been absolutely stagnant since I left Millis in late '21. That's mostly the reason I've stayed where I am now this whole time this because everywhere else I look it's no better than where I'm at.

I now work for Blackhawk doing the exact same thing that I did for Schneider. Making 13 cpm more. As for those trailers they had a great deal of sidewall flex under heavyweight.

I picked up a load for f carpet in one of those and I thought the walls looked unusual, and so did some people on the CB. The shop said not to worry about it so I didn't.

Since I know you guys run through the area a lot (or used to). Go-Mart just bought the old K-Mart property across the street from their Kanawha City, location at x95. Speculation is that they're going to put a truck stop there so there will be a little bit more parking in the area anyhow.
