Mine actually was singled out with the driver as a dummy until I did this work. I feel like my truck runs completely different now. Might just be in my head but it feels like I have more power, truck seems to run cooler and the jakes seem to work better. Time will tell! I have a S pipe at the turbo exit but it isn't that one. Is it just a piece that lasts longer?

Does the exhaust wrap hold moisture? I have never had any experience with those. Feels like it would just suck up the road grime and rot the pipes faster? Turbo definitely puts out a lot of heat! That's for sure. I have not considered a blanket previously but you have me thinking now.

I have used it for 10 years with no moisture issues. The turbo blanket and wrap were both replaced with new when I did the inframe in December.

Going to look into at least a blanket then maybe. That alone would really lower the temperature under the hood. Throwing a pryometer in soon too.

Supposedly the turbo is more efficient when you keep the heat in. I don’t know that I can see the performance difference. When I stopped without it on the turbo cools down much quicker than with it.

They have more expensive ones but the cheap ones have lasted me 4 or 5 years or so.
