Alright, figured I’d better check back in before y’all think I fell off the map somewhere on I-5.
Finished up that Oregon run, spun right back around on another load of lumber (because apparently the Southwest still isn’t done building things). Dropped that, rolled it home, grabbed a 34… and before the coffee even had time to work, I was pointed north again. Washington run, straight back down. Boom. Done.
And can I just say… this weather out here has been chef’s kiss. Warm, a little rain, but I’ll take this all day. Meanwhile I’m watching the Midwest and East Coast get beat up with Ice, cold and snow and I’m like… yeah… I’m good over here. Y’all be safe though.
Now guess where I’m headed again?
Yep. Washington.
Already got the return load lined up too, turn and burn, baby. Back down to So-cal and home for another 34.
Same road, different mile markers. Let’s see what this next one brings.
Keep the shiny side up.firemedic2816, Friend, Joho444 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Looking at Ashley here in Ky they are saying avg $1900-$2100, you do have to tailgate, which isn’t to bad, says LTL any pro’s or cons, I am on a home daily but I feel like not appreciated there almost like my DM isn’t a fan of me. And before anyone suggests getting a new DM, I am on a dedicated home daily account and she is the ONLY one who does that, and their OTR pay is trash…So just exploring my options, any thoughts or advice, I know you are out west and it is different then where I am but on the company as a wholeLonesome Thanks this.

I used work for Ashley and brother trust me you’re gonna earn that money, at the time rent-a-centers were their biggest account prolly still is, where they got some of those stores is crazy, one of the classic lines for the stores is I’m by myself and I can’t unload you so in order to keep moving you’ll have to bring the merchandise into the store sometimes heck if it wasn’t raining or whatever I’d leave that stuffed lined up at their back door, you can go to some stores and they’d empty out a good portion of your trailer, lots of mom n pop furniture stores so like I said you will definitely earn that money I’d say on average I was bringing home between $1400-$1600 after taxes was on the wife’s insurance plan so didn’t have to worry about that
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
Oof well I’m not looking to WORK lol, I’ve got a broken back (old firefighter injury) thank you for the heads up will cross off my list
The ad claims from their DC to other warehouses but I trust that Info about as much as I trust a lot lizard with a full set of teeth
Be safe and keep the shiny side upLonesome Thanks this. -
There's a few OTR companies that are "driver no-touch" freight.Lonesome Thanks this.

If I understand correctly from reading this thread there are 2 sides to Ashley. 1 side does dc to warehouses and the other side delivers to stores
atruckr, Lonesome and drvrtech77 Thank this.
