Well this is my first thread, and i would like to say what a great site you have!:smt041
Ive been trying to go to a driving school however i cant get any loans. It seams like i have tried everything and no luck. I just turned 21 last week , ive been a yard jockey for 2+ years. Ive grown up around trucks my whole life , Now that i am 21 i really want to drive. But seams like my options are limited , the MAIN reason i choose Swift is because they have a terimal in my area. Scheider(sp) isnt near as close and i have no idea how far away CR England is. Im sure there are other companies who train you. But Swift is the most conveinant(sp) I talked to a recuiter the other day and he send me some info and he is supposed to call me next to go forward thought the app. process.
Ive been reading this site about all the BAD things about Swift id like to hear some good things about them. (if there is any)
Opioions are always welcome , i am 21 with no family other than Mom and Dad , no wife , no g/f right now, no kids. I am making 10.21 an hour right now , i need/want a change. And i do love driving , and most likey will go with Swift (things can change)
ill be sure to keep everyone up to date on things! !
Thanks guys/gals

I'm about to start cdl training. how did I get it? I'm on unemployment here in NH, and the unemp office has a woman here who is representative of some federal program taht pays for it, to help people get back to work. so if you are on unemployment, then call your unemp office and ask abotu that federal program. not sure if you have to be on unemp to get the program.

i already tried that (kinda) there is a program if you make less than a certain amount a year they will pay for training...BUT i make way to much
I am just goin to go to Swift for training (sorry if i forgot to mention that) -
well then tell your boss where to go, pat his wife on the fanny and you'll be at the unemployment office in no time so you can ask about the fed program. getting fired is easy!! and fun too:smt109

You could do it the old fashioned way and just save your money; seeing that you make way to much money to qualify for a government paid program, it shouldn't take you long to save up the required amount.

I did find some good things on here said about them , but no where as near as the bad things...
I am just wondering how bad it can be considering there are apppx. 18k trucks out there and just as many drivers.
I guess most of all companys have there own good and bad issues -
