They look like they are on the lower end of training as they only offer 40 hours of driving time. Many better choices such Fox Valley Technical College (100 hours with skid pad), Iowa Central Community College (100 hours), Grayson County College (98 Hours), ATDS (140 hours), San Jacinto College (100 hours), College of Southern Maryland (over 80 hours). There are a number of fine choices scattered across the county. Some schools used to belong to PTDI organization which was like going to an ivy league program. They went out of business when the government mandated the ELDT standard which dumbed down the school standards. All schools are supposed to have the same standard due to the mandate but they are very different. For my money, I want as much behind the wheel time as possible. Also, many schools are 4 to 1 ratio. Who wants three other students observing and chitter chattering while you're trying to learn your profession. Not for me.

Back in 2014, a Millis recruiter told me that I'd be required to pay $100 non-refundable fee to enroll in a refresher course at the trucking school in Trenton OH. I was so desperate to get back in the game that I paid the money. When I called later to set up travel arrangement, she told me that Millis didn't hire out of my area

CRST approved me for a refresher the following month
