Companies like Swift say that Mitigation units are there right help the driver with safetydrivinf skills. Again, a ploy from the ELD'S and Mitigation manufacturers for a Sale 90% of the time. 'Hard Brake' ones are the worse and a bag of noise because of some yahoo pulls in front of you and you have to slam on the brakes why does that adjust tour safety score downwards? Are they saying its better to plow into the veichles in front of you? Its a moron design from a suit looking for a quick pay day nothing else.

When I had the union job, I think it was 3 "hard braking" incidents and it was considered a chargeable offense. THEY claim, from behind their desks, in a hard braking event, you were allegedly going too fast. Running over a curb and ruining a tire, chargeable, hitting a deer, chargeable, and so on. I hated that job.

It's one reason I quit. They claim, you should know where the deer are and again speed was always their crutch. I hit a deer already hit, guts all over, I had to report it. It was a panel of a retired cop, the union steward( on our side) and the boss that made the decisions. I think I got a "warning" for that. That's not the 1st time I've encountered a deer strike as preventable. An ex-mail hauler now turned freight my friend works for, is self insured and has a similar policy.:dontknow:

You could’ve called out that day, you could’ve taken a little longer washing your ### in the shower, you could’ve waited for the Amazon driver to take an hour to back into a spot before you left…

: I like to snort a bump behind the wheel, but they won't let you roll up a Benjamin without the in-face camera going off anymore.

They are definitely looking for reasons to coach to in order to correct your course of action. Try not to run any lights, privileged one o_O

I was with Swift the first time they had driver facing cameras. It never caused me any real problems. I had a couple hard brakes and ran a yellow which turned red just as I was passing through but nothing bad came of it. They went away because they did not produce the desired results, and too many drivers quit over the issue. These new cameras with the AI seem a bit worse if they are tagging you for going 57 in a 55. But with the OP's affinity with running red lights I have doubts about anything said by him or her.

It seems too much like an impatient driver wanting to save a couple seconds or minutes each day by driving dangerously, and being offended at being called to account.

I don't think any of us want drivers like that behind the wheel of any vehicle.

i’m with you on this. From approximately 2011 to 2015 I worked with interns from UNC. I literally almost lost my mind dealing with the entitlement, laziness and incompetence. And no, it’s not just because I’m an older guy from a different generation than they were. Lazy is lazy and these college students today are LAZY. I did work with a few that I would’ve personally hired but out of the hundreds that came through my department, 90% were absolutely unemployable in my opinion due to work ethic issues.

I am a middle school teacher, and the problem started long ago. Schools have been forced to remove consequences, by well meaning, but terrible laws. Failing a grade? They are held back virtually never. Repeated behavior issues? After months they will be sent to alternative school for about a month and then right back. If they are labeled Special Ed (SPED), then they can do nothing and still pass, and these aren't the Special kids you had in school. They are now in a new program. No these kids are just lazy with uncaring parents. If they have a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), better bring body armor to class, and they virtually cannot be punished. They can destroy your classroom and all they get is a "talking" and a candy bar. Fortunately, there are not that many of them. By removing accountability, we crippled them for life. Luckily, the tide is turning, at least here.

Now, don't get me wrong, there are also lots of amazing kids. I have taught some brilliant ones that I am convinced will cure cancer, and perfect cold fusion. Sadly, due to the other problems, sometimes these kids are shown the least attention.
