Seems like not calling ahead is just asking for a delay. Why would you not want to coordinate to make it easier? People don't appreciate surprises

Yes in the open deck world it is always a given to call ahead unlesd you know 100% you dont need to... In other trailer types i have no idea...

Alot of times my paperwork will say to call ahead 24hrs.. not sure if ur in position to do so but maybe raise the question to the powers that be, if your company required an appt time to unload it might put a stop to people showing up. as long as the comminication gets all the way down the chain to the truck driver.. which we know it never does.. actually that part has gotten so bad, that i automatically call and ask if i need an appt time or not. And half the time i do need one, when nobody told me anything..

I missed mine by 2 days last quarter. Even with 0 miles they still gave me like a 70 dollar fine.

Have and always schedule delivery appointments. Some of the places we go into have that problem of trucks just showing up. Fortunately most of them will tell the unscheduled truck to move out of the way because they have a scheduled delivery to unload.

17 in McMinnville this morning with a 20 mph north wind. I have a faucet in each end of the house running a small stream. Water bill is cheap compared to the alternative.
