Been clocked at 96 lucky I knew the trooper.
It had a little bit more but I don't do that anymore I'm thinking none of my tire are speed rated for that and I'm too old to be finding out the hard way.D.Tibbitt, Flat Earth Trucker, Big Road Skateboard and 2 others Thank this. -
Rumor has it in Allegany county New York a trooper caught this ol cow mobile steppin early one morning.
He walks up says you was flyin low comin up that hill there what you haulin? (Now these ol culls was bawlin and stomping) so maybe i should have been not a smart ### when I asked ol boy if he was so poor growing up his mama couldn’t afford a see n say. Then he goes on to say you knew you were speeding cause you hit the Jake brakes. “Well that usually happens when you wanna slow down” he had a poor attitude all around and wrote that black flat top for 108.IH Truck Guy, Sons Hero, D.Tibbitt and 5 others Thank this. -
I'll use that GO occasionally, depends on the state and time of night.
I've been lucky. I've had the light flashed at me many times, but they haven't resulted in a stop. Once droppin into Baker City, most of the way down the hill, and I let her go.
Probably 1-2 am, and I have no idea of speed, but I kicked her outta gear at 83. Trooper in the median gave me a flash at the bottom of the hill.
I take it easier over there nowIH Truck Guy, Sons Hero, mjd4277 and 4 others Thank this. -
@wore out has met me and probably has figured out that my tolerance for risk is fathoms less than his. That said, in the wee hours of the morning coming up through Utah, coming down one of the hills out in the middle of nowhere, and having a 1989 T600 with a digital dash, I decided it was appropriate to find out if the dash would register triple digits. I didn't have enough gears to get there, so Georgia overdrive was the ticket. Well, it sure enough clocked three digits. Scared the #### out of me going that fast in a big truck.
Afterward I realized how stupid I actually am. All I had to do was switch to kilometers and go over sixty two miles per hour to see if the dash would read three digits.
You have to remember, the nationwide speed limit was 55 at that time. You were an outlaw SOB if you went over 70!Last edited: Feb 1, 2026
