Man, am I unlucky or is this just what to expect. Truck has 1.2million on it, but man parts don't seem to last as long as they used too.

Starter motor - starting to #### itself after new one installed 400k miles ago (delco 39mt)

Water Pump - #### itself after new one installed 350k miles ago (genuine from Detroit)

New radiator - Hole in it after new one installed 250k miles (genuine from freightliner)

Lucky to get 18months out of a new set of batteries. (Tried expensive batteries and they did no better than the cheapest crap I can find)

Like what's the deal here am I unlucky with parts or are parts getting worse.

It's not like these are cheap after market parts.

My mechanic says I am the unluckiest guy he has ever seen. I swear parts used to last a lot longer

Holy hell. I don’t see how that’s possible. Thet are the easiest water pumps to change.

Whatever happened with the pitman arm, steering issues? You never updated. Are you getting the water pump fixed instead of the steering issues ?

I tightened up the bolt which made it better, but yeah it needs to be done, it's not as easy as a job on my truck, it's on the engine side, so not as much room. It's not on the outside like your trucks (am in Australia)

Why would I get water pump done instead of Pitman Arm? Lol, I am not broke, I make good money and can afford repairs. This water pump just blew out completely, normally they leak a bit and you can catch it early, but this one just grenaded itself by the looks of it.

    Man I hate dealers
