What I am having trouble with is why you are choosing to stay. You are footing your own motel. You have all kinds of negative things to say about this company. Why are you staying?
It’s like listening to a woman in an abusive relationship, telling everyone that will listen her sob story about how bad she’s being treated. When you ask her why she stays if everything is so bad, she will say, “he can be so thoughtful and sweet some times.”
So, what thoughtful and sweetthing is this company doing for you?

So why not leave? It makes sense to leave early, not late, when a company is shutting down.TripleSix Thanks this.

I appreciate the comments, and you guys are right. I quit today. I had been there for almost a decade and had been through a lot of changes there. Probably hung on too long. It was an abusive situation, but I'm gone and feel better already.

Well, I'm never happy to hear of pulling the pin, but drastic situations require drastic action, and they are probably going under anyway. Now, did you learn anything?
Chinatown McGee has more than enough recommendations, and I strongly suggest you listen to him. He specializes in solid, good companies,,,and an upstairs degree in MD in case you go nuts,,it's a drivers market today, I hope you have given a notice. Some vindictive bosses can have the last laugh saying you gave no notice, 10 years is a credible reference, but a quick explanation to a new, RESPONSIBLE boss will take care of that. You'll be fine, keep us posted, eh? Remember, Chinatown will be along with tips, but make sure you tell where you live, area to run, and what type of trucking( van, flat, etc). Narrows it down some, he tends to get carried away,,

FYI, when "off duty" the driver is allowed to do anything he wants. He can get a room, attend a movie, sit in the driver's lounge all night long, go to his girlfriends house, play xbox games, or even sit/sleep in the drivers seat of his day cab. He is not required to sleep ! Ever notice UPS drivers resting in their trucks (daycabs) in rest areas etc ? Now, obviously, after a day of working, he needs sleep. And the co. should buy a room for the night. Logging sleeper only means you need a actual sleeper in your truck, you can't log sleeper in a day cab.
wis bang, hope not dumb twucker, 48Packard and 3 others Thank this. -

Where are you located? I’m sure someone on here can set you up with a new job by Wednesday…

I'd say if you hadn't seen your own way out of this situation, you would have been forced to eventually anyway. Looks like there's plenty of awareness in leadership the edge of the cliff is rapidly approaching and taking all the profit out of a sinking ship as long as possible.
