If you are looking for a real cheap option you can get a torque multiplier and crank lug nuts off by hand. I carry one as a backup and used it a bunch before I finally just bought the impact. They can be had for about $50 usually.

Don't try to use an impact on it. It doesn't work.

I've used it to do brakes twice on the road and changed probably 20 tires with it. If I'm moving quick I can change a tire in under an hour with it. The impact turns it into 30min.

I can’t afford $1400 right now. Any recommendations on an off brand one since it won’t have much use. I did buy the torque multiplier tool. Would that be enough?

There's no need for the Milwaukee 1 inch unless you are planning to setup a service truck and use it every day in place of an air impact. Right above the post about the torque multiplier I posted an option for a battery impact setup for $400 that I use.

A high output 1/2" drive Milwaukee will do almost anything you would need to do. And now you have the torque multiplier if not

I personally carry this setup and have used it to change tires. If you want you can stop at most any TA or Petro and for $50 they will usually hit them with a torque wrench if you want to verify tightness.

3/8 Air line is fine. I carry 3 x 25ft sections. Set up 2 glad hands as well. 1 male and 1 female quick connect. Only need air lines for a jack if you get the air jack and to refill tires. Hook the female quick connect/glad hand to your red air line. Then push the red button in and you have about 100-120psi of air to work with. Plenty to fill tires or run a jack.

Get the good flexible green airlines too. You dont want to be fighting a ####ty PVC airline that goes stiff like a steel cable in the cold.

With the 2 glad hands you can make an emergency line long enough to get you out of a vind if you snap a glad hand while disconnecting your neck.

Man you are solid! Thank you for sharing this. Now I’m on a tool buying spree. Will stop at harbor freight. Many questions what do you use to pry the tires off the rim? What do you do when tire won’t bead to rim and not have that air gun that tire shops have? What do you use for lube to get the tire over the rim? Should I buy a rim and connect to my spare tire now and keep it on the trailer?

spend the money now on impact gun? Or can I wait since I have the torque multiplier ? I saw a 30ton hydraulic jack but without air, get that or stick with your setup?

Honestly I would just keep a spare on a rim. Busting beads and spooning tires on/off rims is a pain.
