It’s a luck thing for me. Stupid little superstition but I still do that sometimes

 

"I don’t think it’s gonna fall off"

That phrase kinda resonates. Maybe a case of disease I had once...

 

That'd be an easy fix it looks. I bet an old school rad shop will fix you up in 30 minutes or so.

Looks fixable. Doubt it'll need a recore.

I agree with everyone else, idling it for a few seconds won't hurt it. At least you can hear it and see if you've got good oil pressure before you put everything back in place.

I guess i didnt even think of starting it before. Got full tunnel vision of just trying to get it all back together . Bout tired of it and just wanna go back to work

 

I know the feeling. It's easier to say eff it and quit than keep bustin out hard days of #### you hate.

But we keep on. That's the small detail between being excellent or average.

 

I'll tell you a story Just for ####s and giggles I went through a brand new compressor with out even firing up the engine, mine has a spacer on it, never saw one with a spacer plate before, didn't realize some had it. Tightened up the new compressor without the spacer plate on and cracked the housing on the compressor before I even started the truck.... $800 or around there down the drain on something super easy like a compressor.... I just sat there and stared at it for like a 1/2 hour in disbelief. It's crap like that that makes you slow down and try and gather your thoughts on everything and double check and triple check everything

 

I have learned, and you can guess how it was learned, that when you get in a rush or that “I want this done now” mode. It ain’t gonna be easy on you.
