Do your time, keep your mouth shut except for related questions, and your ears open. Do that as long as your working and when your record is clean then you'll have a much better chance at getting a decent job. You don't know now if it's going to be bad or good but if you stay with a good attitude the experience will be much better for you.

By going to a 2 week refresher course, I take it that you already have some experience driving. Believe me the worse thing you can do is go around saying "well, we did it this way at so and so". Get yourself a small notebook and take notes on how they want things done. If you do see something that is better, and at times you might, tell your trainer and let him decide what to do. If he takes the credit then so be it but at least he'll know where it came from and if he's a decent trainer he'll let the upper people know where it came from too. It sounds like this is your source to get back into driving. Good luck and make it work.

Good luck! Maybe it will go well for you, maybe it won't. But if it is only for eight months it really isn't that long. If you have 20 years experience in anything you are old enough to know that 8 months is a whole lot longer when you are 21, than it is when you are pushing 40!
