I need to try a compression sleeve, but I haven't yet. I also do some mobility work with a program called MtnTough.

I've been trying some specific stretches and movements to help the knee pain, and it seems to have helped.

The ice is mostly gone now so I'm going to try a run in the morning and see how that goes. I did go ahead and do some deadlifts today, and BW walking lunges, and never noticed any pain.

I'm not sure what metrics the watch uses to get it's info, but I know I could go for a hard 5 or 6 mile run with a under 9 min pace and it would jump to 47 or 48.

Then you get a little good feels cause you see a change in the #'s, and the watch says you're gettin so much better. Then that makes you want to go harder and harder.

Also, I'll go on runs out west at 7 or 8' feet, and obviously my HR is up, pace slower, and my V02 drops.

Great finish there! Looks like a good starting run for the year. Now it's time to get in a few more.

Your Z2 is where I'd like to get before I start my muscular endurance training. Hopefully I can get it there.

If I understand the info I've read, a 10% difference or less between aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is what I'm looking for.

I haven't tested anaerobic threshold yet since I know I'm not close. Probably do that in March sometime.

Had a 8 mile run today that went well. And next week the long run goes to 11 miles. I have a month until the half marathon and I feel pretty decent so far. I’ve made stretching more of a priority this past week and it’s really helped.

I did some research about the ankle pain I was having. I noticed it didn’t come until I hit my lower back while working. I didn’t pull anything, I just stood up in a tight area and hit my lower back on the metal frame work. So the swelling obviously was there, and those nerves actually lead down to your legs and end there. I noticed the more I stretch my back out before I ran, the pain wouldn’t be there in my ankle. That was a big “light bulb” moment.

How are things going for you Skateboard? How’s the knee pain? Has the snow and ice started melting around you? I need to do more research about aerobic and anaerobic training. That’s a little above my head at this time, but seems like you’ve done some research and you will dial it all in.

I've been doing some knee stretches that have really helped. Basically a lunge with the knee so far past the toes that the calves almost touch the hamstrings.

It's worked pretty well I think. Weather has improved, and I've felt pretty good all week, so I've knocked out some good runs.

Was hoping to pick up 3 more hours this morning, but stuff kinda went to hell yesterday morning.

Still a good week I'm happy with, and I'll be back at it tomorrow. About 50 days out from the marathon.

I'll post a link so you can deep dive into aerobic and anaerobic stuff. It'll make more sense than my 2nd hand diluted interpretation.

Nice week right there! I’m glad those stretches are helping that knee pain. You will be in great shape for that marathon. That warmer weather will be here before we know it.

Thank you for that link, I will read up on it this week.

Ran my Half Marathon in Sarasota, Florida today. It went better than the half I ran back in December. Although there were not as many people, not even close actually. It was still a decent turnout. It was humid as one might expect. One day off and back to training for another half at the end of April.

Nice work! Kept that pace and wow! that heart rate over 13 miles is insane.

Very cool. What's your training look like till the next race?
