S13 Engines Good or Bad

Dont have one, but everyone i know that does seems to like them and says they are dead reliable though a bit innemic at heavy weights on hills especially with that auto.

 

It would be nice if International had a larger engine design,say a 15L version.. Only issue is the US doesn't have the same diesel fuel quality like the EU has.. It's amazing that Cummins has built an engine platform that is reliable on the lower fuel quality here in the States..Scania engine designs are definitely better..

 

I've heard good things about them. reliable and great fuel mileage. I wonder if a manual transmission swap is possible? since you cant order it with a manual as far as I know. Would be interesting to hear from techs if that is possible with its ecm. Though for EPA 2027 they will be adding variable valve timing and engine control will be 24volt. I'm not sure how I feel about that. More stuff to go wrong.
