Had a good day yesterday. I was hauling to Wichita but was diverted to take a load to Coffeyville, Ks. Seems flour mill ran out of hi protein wheat and needed ten loads asap. It paid well enough could bounce back empty which was good cause nothing going out of there.

We've done that one before for the same company. It feels pretty good to hold their feet to the fire when you both know they need you and the clock is ticking on them!

Two little squirrels tried to do that to me in Moundridge. One was standing on top of my trailer, so I couldn't move out from under. Fortunately there was only 6K bushel till the bin ran out. Otherwise... :biggrin_2559:

How are all you guys doing? Sorry I haven't been one here, I probably wasn't even missed. :biggrin_2559: Hope everyone is doing good, making money and staying busy. I am back to pulling a flat and have been really busy, mostly just running Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. Loaded know for Muldrow, OK and reload a light pole tomorrow in Tulsa going to Wichita and back to Medicine Lodge where I am loading about every other day. I miss pulling the dump but making better money and home every weekend and sometimes during the week for supper.

I seen Highside the other night and said are hello's as we were passing each other in Kiowa, KS and he sure does keep his equipment clean and shiney for a dirty feed hauler :biggrin_2559:.
I am always on the look out for the rest of the gang.

Tell you the truth, I really haven't spent the time to check on that. The way I look at taxes is the same way my grandfather used to - rather pay it later than expect a refund that'll never come.

IFTA runs on a "shared tax basis" for the participating states. They take the total fuel taxes you've paid everywhere, and then assign the revenue to the states depending on the miles you ran there. Some states charge more fuel tax, and sometimes a higher percentage of the price paid is "tax money". In general, I still fuel where it's cheaper - because you have to have the revenue first to pay bills - if I wind up paying to IFTA, I have more time and foresight when that happens, versus equipment failure that I can't pay for. The difference in fuel prices can be as high as $200 per WEEK, and that's not chump change.

Glad to hear you are making better money. You haven't really missed much here, we've been fairly quiet in the hopper/dump thread lately. I'm actually flatbedding this week too, got a couple loads of lumber to run over to IN this week.

Been wondering what you were up to. Make more money and be home more sounds good to me. As RW said been a little slow, just before harvest hits here in a month.
