This article also had a video on how to reset the odometer back to zero without needing any tools or dismantling any part of the vehicle. It's simple by just pushing a few buttons. Can't find the video now, after watching it.

Way back in the 50s, guys would take the badging off of their cars. And back then it wasn't glued on. When they took it off it left holes in the bodywork that they filled and painted to give their cars a custom look.

Just never sell it or it's a federal crime.

I had a very young non-rate gate guard tell me (at the time) a very salty SNCO that it was illegal to paint over the emblems on this beater pickup I had. I told him (in clear military terms) I would be willing to sit there all day while he pulled up the regulation, guidance or law to prove his assertion. He never even slowed me down to check my ID after that morning. Wierd.

Right. Came across a used car on Auto Trader that had Carfax records showing maintenance records that put the mileage on the car higher than what the seller was showing!

110K miles showing for an oil change and other maintenance vs. 86K miles on what the car was being sold at!!Chinatown Thanks this.
