I don’t know what your job history looks like, but, Dot Foods has a yard off I-25, a bit north of I-40. They do have inward-facing cameras, which sucks. But, when I worked there, I had all the miles I wanted running open dispatch, meaning I went anywhere a load went without a hometime schedule.Chinatown Thanks this.

I mean, shoot, when I was running Ross Dress for Less outta ABQ it was typical to see three 14hr days in a row per week...5hrs drive ABQ to El Paso, 4hrs unload boxes, 5hrs drive back to ABQ. Or 13hrs...5hrs ABQ to Carlsbad, 3hrs unload, 5hrs drive back. Ugh.

The industry is in a recession. Some companies have more freight than other companies. MOST local freight is locked down to individual companies. Lots of OTR is load-board junk in which every foreigner with a dream can also under bid and make OTR slower than local. It sounds like you are running load-board freight, meaning your company isn't hauling for direct customers but scrimping for freight off load-boards.gentleroger and lual Thank this.
