If some of the above suggestions don't pan out -- you can always try what I did.
I had a clean driving record, & criminal history -- but an abysmal employment situation.
Thus -- I knew going in....finding a "yes" answer would be tough.
To turn the tables on this problem:
Past all that -- you could give Schneider a try.
- Get all the CDL endorsements you don't already have; this shows prospective future carriers that you're serious.
- Wherever you finally score a gig -- you will need to stay there for AT LEAST 2 YEARS -- to show a track record of some stability...& at least partly reverse your earlier shakey record.
They hired me....when no one else would:
Truck drivers facility locations | Schneider
However, make no mistake -- just because they may hire you -- don't kid yourself into thinking they are "easy"...or their safety team are a bunch of pushovers.

I was with Freymiller for 2 years. And, with H & M for 5 months.
I have good news though. I did better than I expected. I got accepted at TransAM, Classic Carriers, and at a local asphalt company to drive a water truck. I’m going to try the local job. I suck at driving a standard but I passed my CDL exam in one. It is a 10 speed. I think it doesn’t have to be double clutched. I might be able to wing that. God, I hope so! OTR really isn’t my preference. Thank you for all of your input and advice!!!OldeSkool, Wargames, BlackjackCo and 2 others Thank this. -

Yeah, I’m usually good at any job I take. The only one I can think of where they didn’t like me was in a fast-paced tire and lube shop where the owner was crazy demanding. I’m good at driving, tracking details, and OTD, etcetera. But, occasionally I get where I have sleep issues—can’t sleep when I need to and then can’t stay awake for driving. It took 2 years to happen in my first trucking job. I have a new strategy now though, we’ll see how it works. Instead of working holidays for the extra pay, I’m going to take all of them off. And, I’m going to keep some sleeping pills with me for those tough times with sleeping. I don’t like taking them. They either only work for 1 night. Or, they make feel weird/drowsy for the next day. But, maybe they can help me reset if/when it happens again.
