Yes for divisible loads. We go off of the federal bridge table and virtually all trucks that haul that heavy are 10 axle turnpike doubles. IMG_4080.jpeg IMG_4081.jpeg

I think Alabama allows 20k per axle regardless of spacing, and our drops here aren’t good but for 8.5k more. I use drop, even though the load may be legal, to help hold it up on these twisty secondary roads. Many are narrow with softer edges as well. And always when drivin by “the man”.

    Oxbow and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

The extra set of brakes is always nice too, if yours are so equipped.

    Oxbow and MAMservices Thank this.

Most of the quads here run two small pushers and the tri’s run a 20k pusher.

Illinois we can only run 73,500 on short 22 or 24’ end dumps and have to have a 40’ end dump to run 80k. No extra weight for extra axles even on strait dump trucks. Most guys around here have gone to belt trailers. That’s all the road builder want is a belt trailers. IMG_4418.jpeg IMG_3879.jpeg

I was wondering. Why then short little quarter frames were so popular out that way but that explains it

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Wow, it seems belt trailers would be horribly slow to unload and wouldn't hold up too well. We have lots of belt trailers here, but they are all used for ag products. But, if the contractors are happy with them I guess it must work there. The tare weight could be a little less.

Toomanybikes, Tug Toy and wore out Thank this.
