The speaker on my phone sucks but I wonder if it could be an exhaust leak. My old Cat made sounds kinda similar to that under light acceleration. It also had no manifold bolts or gaskets on the first 2 cylinders either.

 

now that you say that. I remember having to pull the manifold back off about half a inch to fit the thermostat housing in behind it..wonder if i forgot to tighten it back up or that gasket is sitting wonky

 

Been hanging in east Europe. ICE hasn't got me yet. Karen was giving off race car personality last week. Been wearing my Grocho Marx's glasses.








So what's your thoughts. I feel this should be changed before someone uses them. Looks like a accident waiting to happen. Maybe Habib is now designing buildings instead of driving truck tractor?

 

Got to clean the truck today, will be all f'd up tomorrow and the rest of the week

Monday afternoon I get a call- "A truck left the pit with the gate unlatched there's gravel everywhere going up the hill, County is PISSED! Jump on the loader and scrape it up wouldja?"
I zoom down scrape up the mess. Cleaning the shoulder a SUV stops across the road woman (callers wife) gets out bounces over hands up a fifth of Knob Creek. Nice.
Next morning he calls me "what are you doing this morning?"
Well, sitting down here on the road in the loader. It seems that women stop and give me whiskey, soooo.....

 

Well figured out the problem with the weird noise. All it was since this truck has been demandated, the block off plate from exhaust manifold to egr cooler had fallen into the exhaust bellow and was rattling around, got it set good and no more noise.. now on to the next thing. Put the condenser back on , hood on and some tires. Fix a big air leak on top of transmission... Atleast all the problems so far have been dumb stuff

The rub comes in, is the fact that the correct fuel ratio must be delivered in a volume great than enough, to continuously sustain combustion to keep engine running. That 400cc carburator in its stock bore size and jetting, could maybe, run two cylinders

i wouldn’t have thought so myself. Was reading in the comments of the video, and a kid in a class fitted a Snapper mower carb to a v8 Ferd engine via CNC made adapter. Said he drove it for a week, they got it up to 85 on the interstate, he made an A in the class for his final and was offered a position in Ford School. They prolly wanted to get the kid so they could off him and his future ideas.

 

Man, hope that's it . For your sake of fix and if is, I will recount you one from our shop that is laughable...
