Rural areas are great. All you need is 2 gallons of water and soap.At 2am it’s dark no one in miles you can stand outside naked wet down with 1gallon soap up and rinse with the other gallon .ITS INCREDIBLE sometimes I’ll just pull out my lawn chair and just sit outside and air dry ITS REALLY invigoratingRideandrepair, The_vett, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this.

Think he means don't settle for being wimpy and out of shape regardless of what freight you haul. Physical fitness has been overlooked by our industry too long.Rideandrepair, GreenPete359, Gearjammin' Penguin and 8 others Thank this.

Yes, the van life (people who live in 4-wheel vans) and camping YouTube channels have the details. There were times I had my truck setup for emergency shower. I would warn you under no circumstance bother with the 'shower bags'. The seam on them ALWAYS fail and then all the water spills everywhere. I used 1 or 2 1-liter Aquafina bottles. If you want the luxury experience, you just need something like an electric kettle or immersion heater that allows you to use warm or hot water instead of cold water. Fill the container with half hot water and half cold water for warm water. Of course you need something to catch the water. I used a couple of these dish pans from walmart.Rideandrepair, The_vett and nextgentrucker Thank this.

Its worth it especially if you're younger. These trucks tear your body up over time, and you don't realize the wear you've got until you wake up hurting because you slept wrong. I carry a couple of 20Lb dumbbells, and on the days when I don't put in much physically I try to end my day with at least 30 minutes of walking and 10-15 minutes of lifting. It's not much, but along with routine nerve flossing (stretching) even with 2 herniated discs I'm mostly pain free and I sleep better.Rideandrepair, Bell_Diver, The_vett and 3 others Thank this.

Run local. I shower at my house every evening.

Back to the OP, if I can't shower where I plan on finishing my day, I try to take a 30 and get a shower in the middle of the day. It isn't as great as going to bed completely clean, but it's better than depending on wipes and wet cloths.
Hijacking threads ain't the same anymore..Last edited: Feb 20, 2026

The easiest way to do this is clean up using baby wipes, then wipe yourself down with a wet washcloth to remove the babywipe residue. Then wash your hair & face with water.
