Coke has both route drivers and shuttle drivers. Shuttle drivers do not fingerprint freight.

Concorde, Lonesome and JUD5716 Thank this.

Yeah, so ask Pepsi or any other beverage company about being a shuttle driver.

    JUD5716 and TripleSix Thank this.

All food service companies have the same set up. Yes, the money is in fingerprints, but they always have dropNhook jobs too.

Concorde, Lonesome and Chinatown Thank this.

I practically have an offer from PTI- Paper Transport. The recruiter had me set up my clearing house and accept their inquiry. I’m brand new to class A driving and just got my license a few endorsements and my TWIC earlier this month. I wanted to stay local (I know, I know) but PTI only has regional home weekly rn. And since I’m new it’s 0.47cpm

atp idk what to do because no one else has shown any interest. I had an interview with Coke, haven’t heard back from Pepsi, TMC, Boyd Bros, Ryder, etc. I’ve applied to sooooo many ppl I really wanted to stay local. Sysco emailed me a “no”, Cheney Bros told me “no”, Rock &Tank and JB Hunt also told me “no”.

But anyway how was your 1st year trucking?
Did you go otr? Were you able to make decent earnings your first year? I’m feeling a little discouraged :biggrin_1square1:

I work for Pritchett, have for several years. I stay quiet on here for the most part, but they may give you a shot, more than likely if an opportunity existed, it would be local end dump, Newberry to Jax area daily.

    JUD5716 Thanks this.

Delivering Coke in a side loader truck is a lot of work. A shuttle job might be OK.

Whatever you do, it’s just a start not the finale. Luck in battle.

When I began driving trucks, all of the decent paying local jobs wanted a year of experience. I just don't understand the aversion to doing OTR for a transitory spell.
You will have access to a shower and enough shower points to bathe daily if you play your cards right; you'll be able to exercise and stretch your legs; you'll be able to listen to podcasts, music, audiobooks and radio programs as you drive; you'll be able to save a lot of money; you'll have downtime to learn more about yourself; etc. I knew a few drivers who worked for PTI out of Jacksonville and they gave rave reviews. Anything is better than the US Xpress in Jacksonville

The problem with female drivers is that they only got their CDL to maintain a certain type of lifestyle. Never met a female driver who was able to save six figures in an account without touching it. You can be that female who proves me wrong
