For those with experience with Cummins insite, does the program list engine sensor optimum values, or just acceptable ranges?
In other words, on a X-15E series for example, I'd like to find the actual sent value of each sensor, or......whether the sensor just sends info, and the ecm determines whether or not that sensor or module is within range? If it is the ecm, does insite give what the high and low values are supposed to be whether it be in temperature or pressure etc.?
Of is there another listing somewhere of said info?

Insite gives the actual value that the ECM is seeing during operation at a given point in time. Be it saved data or live.

The expected data ranges are found within the service information in QSOL. A lot of that is understanding how each sensor operates and what its purpose is in the operation and performance of the engine.

    Thank you for that.
So can one just sign in to qsol after insite purchase, or is that a separate cost, and if I don't want to update beyond my own engine, do I have to keep paying to be able to login just for my engine?

I’m not certain on the access. One would think QSOL access would be included with Insite subscription. I would contact Cummins care on that one. Fortunately my employer has always given me access for my position.

You should have been provided a login for it. Insite can be pretty useless without it.

Awesome. Thank you. I have not purchased insite yet. I'm doing research first. Hoping to not get burned like I did with caterpillar a few years back, where I purchased the expensive service manual, only available digital, then had to go through step after step of costly and time consuming proprietary readers and other crud. I finally gave up. Thankfully I sold that excavator.

Thats why ill always be a fan of cummins. There is a paid version of QSOL but its really only for shops.. the free version has everything u need. I just did a full rebuild on a 2250isx using my free version qsol and have diagnosed dozens upon dozens of problems on the same truck following their troubleshooting procedures

From Cummins you don't buy Insite. You license for one year. Need a laptop and the hardware to connect. The website will show the options.

Any chance you can elaborate on that just a bit more? I see it advertised for around the 1500 dollar mark. If I have all the laptop and connection hardware, at the end of that 1 year what happens? The program clears itself and is inactive? Or I can keep using it, just without updates or support?
