I don't know the reason for it cause I did have my CDL before I went to work for them. however when I called to ask about my last weeks pay they said that I had signed a contract for 1 year of employment and that any breach of that contract would result in forfeiture of my last pay check. I remember signing the contract but don't recall anything like that in the fine print.

I worked for them for over a year run while you still can. They are a great company to work for if you don't like to make any money and never get home like they say

she was talking about a hundred people and she mentioned keeping new guys until the LAST day of orientation.
given that any company has a right to send away people who clearly look irresponsible or likely to damage the equipment. but when i put this post together with another one (someone mentioned that trucking companies get paid for putting people through orientation) and the whole process doesn't look pretty any more.
i doubt that the percentage of mentally challenged folks who first pay 3-6 geez and then start doing drugs and drinking in front of the potential employer. as about failing the physical, that one people go through at schools...why re-taking it?
***many thanks for letting people know. especially because you and your husband were successful*** -
and the lord said =honor my grass! and love thy trainer!= and adam honored the grass and loved that trainer for bouts 300 hrs.
and the lord said =don't thy rack my truck!= and adam didn't rack the truck for entire 6 weeks or so.
but the lord kicked him out of tmc eden anyway for there were only 25 trees to hide 45 newbies' =shame= behind
and adam said =why r u doin' this to me, my lord? for i was promised by a recruiter i was pre-edened? i got eve to feed!=
and the lord said =well, my son, did thy recruiter kinda looked like a big green snake?=Last edited: May 17, 2010

most of these posts are from guys or gals that didnt cut it and hold a grudge. TMC is a good company but just like every company it has its downs. If you do as yur told and keep yur nose clean you'll be fine and even make good money. This is easy if you want to drive and do what you want buy ur self a truck and try to make it by always being at home. TMC is running a bussiness, and in OTR sometimes you have to make sacrifices plain and simple. If the school you went to sugar coated this job complain to them not us we heard it all before and probably said it ourselves when we were new. As for being cut through orientation, think of it this way. If a guy cant handle the stress of 2 weeks of someone telling you how to do something and testing out on what you were supposed to be paying attention to, would you want that person in the truck following your wife and kids down the highway? I wouldn't, I say hats off to the TMC training program. I didnt have to do 2 weeks of it I was there for 3 days but I also had experiance. Everyone has to start somewhere and I cant think of a better flatbed company out there.

What kind of "expectations" did your husband have? A well paying job; driving expensive top of the line equipment; managing the risk to the public, himself, and TMC, and not being on Top of HIS Game? If you expect the best, you need to be your best, and not just for a short period of time while you are in orientation. Reverse the roles: Would you buy a Peterbilt and expensive trailer; offer top pay to drive it; and hire someone who "didn't know what to expect"? Get real. That's why all of the jobs are being exported to people who will actually work 8 to 10 hours a day without being made aware that their job is in jeaporady if they don't!

So, the TMC recruiter AND his boss came to our school and presented. A very nice presentation. They went over % and cpm and leaned heavy on % as the way for new drivers to go. Questions were asked and answered and then me. I asked, do the dispatchers consider who is % and who is cpm when they decide who gets what load? The recruiter went red and looked at his boss. His boss snapped NO. end of answer...must have been a sore spot.
