Found an incredible deal on a herd bumper for a 379 would it fit on a Freightliner classic xl? To me the bumpers on pete and classics look similar but I have never measured or anything. Anyone will more knowledge than me would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would be pretty surprised if the mounting plates are the same.

If the bumper comes with the mounting brackets, you could order brackets to fit your truck, then just fab it up using both.

I'm tempted to go look at it and do a bunch of measuring. I had to get a different classic and I don't like the bumper on it so I was looking around and found that puppy used but in good shape.

I would. I looked around for a used one for mine for a while and never found anything. Finally just ordered one.

Mine came with two extra brackets. I'll grab a pic on the morning. if you could use them to help fab up let me know

Thanks man appreciate it! My blue classic got totaled. Still pretty sad about it. I literally just got it all perfect and ready for 5-10 years of working. I got a smoking deal on a black one though. Have a Detroit now though instead of Cummins. Honestly is a nicer truck for the most part. Still will miss the old one.

That's my biggest fear, is finally getting the bucket of bolts I call a truck done, then someone smashing it to smithereens and having to start all over again, part of the reason I haven't fixed the fender I hit a deer with 2 years ago, a little gun shy on throwing the new on.

Honestly man I was dumb enough to never think it would be me. Been doing this 10 years, only hit one deer that entire time. Never had any other issues. I'm not really in the cities much or anything. Been slowly improving my truck over the past 2-3 years. Had it really nice. Driveline wise this new truck is technically better than mine but still hurts.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.
