Yep always cringe when I see those loads, pulled a crane job once in Wyoming in the wind that was awful

I used to keep the load leveler for my step at the front of the upper deck. Then I moved it to the lower deck right behind the step because I was tired of climbing over it. Instant 1MPG gain. About a 10ft gap between the back of my sleeper and the front of the trailer so it was sitting out there catching wind all the time. I couldn't believe how much drag a few pieces of 4x4 tubing was making.Cdemars316, exhausted379, booley and 8 others Thank this.

Have to come back from semi retirement on Monday. Crane parts(2 jib sections) to San Diego. Easy run.
exhausted379, wore out, booley and 9 others Thank this. -
Doesn't sound like retirement...it sounds more like @booley 's part time gig.

Diesel Dave, beastr123, exhausted379 and 7 others Thank this. -

I believe it, it's ridiculous how much wind that stuff grabs, that crane jib knocked me down to about 50-55 mph and about 4mpg, the guy behind me had a century that's a lot more aero dynamic then the western star I was in and he got like .1 mpg better than I did going across thereOldeSkool, exhausted379, D.Tibbitt and 8 others Thank this.
