I just put a pair of vice grips on the rod against the housing, then release the brakes. The vice grips will keep the small spring compressed, and you're not fighting it to clock it.

 

40t . 48 overall ft . 29ft in the well. 2 axle mechanical neck double drop. 9.5ft upper deck . 7.5 ft rear deck... Got slideouts on it but they all rusted to hell and cant get them open

Finally have cruise control back and working, speedo still moves around a little but it's done that for a couple years, but it holds a steady speed at cruise.

 

I've missed a few boys. But this gent made it. But the bridge still won.
