That's really a shame and disrespectful to the next driver, the company or especially not at a customer. I am sure the company would have authorized a wash out. It seems like that driver just doesn't care and should be severely reprimanded. He wouldn't have appreciated it if he picked up that empty and saw that.

We can get washouts at blue beacon no problem. Theres one a couple exits down from the kc terminal.it can get busy though. Easily take an hour or 2, may not have that time for whatever reason. Also, may not have known. Several times I've gotten empty late, cant see in the back. If i got time and there's a convenient washout I'll get it washed to be on the safe side. I've always felt customers should have washout on site or be charged. They're the ones trashing the trailers or wanting them spotless, let them pay for our time or do it themselves

Let me guess, you called every higher up in management and let them know it was unacceptable?

The driver isn't going to be severely reprimanded for not washing out that trailer. Dispatch will appease Dvrtech's tantrum complaints and then go on to the actual issues they are dealing with, not insignificant stuff like this.

OTR drivers don't wash out trailers because they don't get paid for it and dispatch has bigger fish to fry and isn't going to care either.

OTR drivers already fuel for free, inspect equipment for free, wait 2-3 hours at warehouses for free before detention kicks in, trip plan for free, come out of pocket for parking and showers when necessary, get PM's done for free, deal with breakdowns for free the first 24 hours, etc etc.

Why then would they also wait 1-2 hours in line at a Blue Beacon for free when they can just get the next driver to deal with it?

Before anybody attacks me personally no I've never dropped trailers that stink before washing them out, but at times yes I've left dirty trailers for other drivers. Particularly when I've had instances of constantly cleaning and washing out dirty trailers for others where I get to the point of "screw it", I'm not doing it again for the 15th consecutive time after a 14 hour day and so the cycle continues.

Stop blaming drivers for not working for free waiting 1-2 hours for washouts or taking 15 minutes to sweep out the trailer and properly dispose of the trash for free. Instead start blaming cheap ### OTR companies who expect labor for free because they don't want to pay for on duty time like an hourly job would.

Another reason why I’m glad I work for a private fleet and not a turd like Crete. Those guys make more per mile than I do but with my accessoriery pay I do way better.

I picked up a loaded trailer at a Walmart DC in KC 2 days ago. When I entered the gate a sign read “All empty trailers must be clean.” I got to laughing so hard I almost hit the pole at the check in shack. What a joke.
