Delivered in Mt Juliet this morning. Go home empty.
I have to get my license renewed this week. Leave out Monday. Truck due for service once I get back up to corn countryFriend and runningman0661 Thank this. -
I pulled my final load for FCC today, I left on good terms and quit the right and professional way by giving a proper notice in advance. I learned along time ago to never burn bridges in this industry.
It was a tough decision, but after looking at my year end numbers, and looking at my last three annual P&L statements it was a decision that had to be made. I know it’s been a tough few years for the industry and FCC was no exception, but my costs as a business owner continued to increase and FCCs lack of ability to compensate O/Os fairly made it a business decision I had to make.
Another factor in making the change is that my wife has been having some physical health issues, and wants me to home more consistently.
I will be attending orientation for the new carrier I am leasing onto next week in Arkansas. It will be a a different segment of the industry, that pays the owner operator very well. I will be paid more for empty miles than I made here loaded.
I spent over 7 years at FCC, and have not one negative thing to say, great people, and good consistent freight. I’ve made some great friends here, and wish everyone the best.
Once over at my new carrier and I get comfortable I will start a new thread. I thought about starting a YouTube channel, but I have neither the face or voice for public consumption.MidWest_MacDaddy, Dennixx, Friend and 19 others Thank this. -
Well good luck in your new venture. Hope the wife gets to feeling better, and congrats on the million mile marker earlier! Once you start a new thread I’ll be one of the first subscribed!hope not dumb twucker, JohnBoy and rokue Thank this.

I'll have to see how you do at your new company good luck on your endeavor and god bless. Anyway in the meantime I need to buy another truck for tax purposes next year so at some point I will be back owner operator maybe in August. Maybe fcc will give a raise eventually. I don't know yet the company you chose to go with, but we'll be curious. Also @runningman0661 if you do a YouTube channel or tiktok you might not care to record anything, but you can do some short videos just to summarize your opinions about the company or your rates and etcLast edited: Feb 26, 2026
Friend, JohnBoy, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Every person on this planet needs to worry about only a few things. Be a good person. Be a good spouse. Make the money you desire, to live the way you want to live.
Some people need 6k sqft and a heated pool. Others need a tent and a good dog to be happy.
From speaking with you the couple times I have and reading your posts here, you have a face for radio but I would subscribe to a YT channel and follow it well beyond what I would here on TR.
I've been on the fence about wanting to swap divisions SOLELY for home time. Haven't made that call yet to HQ.
Kudos for not leaving an unsigned sticky note on the operation window.
Make sure to link new thread or yt channel here. I don't cruise the forums openly. I only read 4 or 5 threads.
Good luck!Friend, FullMetalJacket, 48Packard and 7 others Thank this. -
