I have been driving for them for 3 years.. have had trucks with APU's and without. I keep hearing drivers say that their fleet managers come down hard on them for idle, but I have never had an issue. I wont freeze for anyone, nor will I roast. I run the truck whenever I feel the need when I don't have the APU. Its kind of silly to me, though, that most of the team trucks have APUs.... we shouldn't need them, theoretically, if we ran the miles we were able to. Solos on the other hand have to stop no matter what. Good Luck to you and ur hubby.. I think he will be happy here.
